USF welcomes group for Cuban-Americans

More than 150 USF students, faculty and community leaders will gather at Gaspar's Cigar Shop on S West Shore Boulevard on Saturday to celebrate the establishment of USF's newest student organization, the Cuban American Student Association: Los Pinos Nuevos.

Sponsored by Gaspar's Cigar Shop, the event will be a social affair with festivities including food, highlighted by a Cuban pig roast, drinks, cigars and music. The event will also commemorate the life of Jose Marti.

For over a year, the Cuban American Student Association at the University of South Florida has had representation with its affiliated national organization, Raices De Esperanza, which serves as a link to more than 55 universities. For information, call (813) 831-0100.
