Metropolitan Society Recent and Upcoming Events
We want to thank Rene Castaneda of
Miami Cigars and Lew Rothman of J&R Cigar for making our May Dinner
a great success. They are two leaders in the business, and, to have
them on the agenda for the same night, well, what else can you ask for?
Think the weather hasn't quite broken yet? Well, that's not quite true. The summer schedule is hot as can be at the Metropolitan Society.
Next up are our friends from Dewars. Come to the June 4th meeting and sample the Scotch people order by name.
Then we've got doubleheaders for guests in July and August, which will feature Cigar Art and Rushmore Cigars and Vilazon Brands in August. Don't forget the Second Annual Metropolitan Society Golf Outing on August 29 and, in between, a poker tournament, Pig Roast, Mediteranean Night, complete with Belly Dancers and much much more.
If you haven't yet seen the 14 foot screen in the LaCubana Room, you're in for a real treat. You'll be hearing about the upcoming great films we'll be showing very soon.
Haven't joined the Metro yet? Maybe you need to come and check out the club! If you're not yet a mmber and might liketo sign up to take a look, you can go to our club "store" at www.MetroCigar.com and sign up. We look forward to seeing you!
Hotter than the tip of your cigar...it's summer 2008 at the NEW Metropolitan Society! Come join us.
About Us
The Metropolitan Society was founded in 1994, as the Metropolitan Cigar Society, so cigar smokers could savor elegant surroundings where they could relax and escape the intolerance and militancy of the anti-smoking crowd while fostering the camaraderie of others who share their enthusiasm for fine cigars.
Conveniently located in Northeast New Jersey, we are a private club, a sanctuary, where people dedicated to the enjoyment of fine cigars can meet in a hassle free environment. Take refuge in The Metropolitan Society. Come join us. Relax. Fire up a cigar, and look around. And, if you have any questions, please contact us! Or you can visit us at www.metrocigar.com
DIRECTIONS TO THE CLUB LOCATION
Formal address is 1275 Bloomfield Avenue, Building 8, Suite 62, Fairfield.
If you are driving west on US 46, take the Clinton St. exit, go to the light AND make a left. Cross 46. Go about a mile and bear right at the fork. That's Oak, This takes you out to the Bloomfield Ave where it merges with 46. Just as you enter onto Bloomfield you will see an entrance with a large sign. Among other things the sign says 'Pio Costa Junction', 'Car Wash' etc. Pull in there. If the diner is to your left, drive to the right of a small brick building and over two speed bumps. At the second speed bump, you'll notice a yellow "clothing drop" box and property map. Make a right there and drive back to the second building on the left. That's building 8 and our unit is number 62.
If you are driving east on 46, from Parsippany and other points west of Fairfield, take the "Bloomfield Avenue" right off of Route 46 as you approach the Caldwells. Move to the left lane and look for the entrance to the "Pio Costa Junction" complex on your left. Make that left and proceed into the complex with diner on your left and follow in from that point as described at the end of the paragraph above.
