10 Father’s Day Gift Ideas for a Cigar Lovin’ Man

That once-a-year time to take care of Dad is coming, with Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21.  With that in mind, here are 10 ideas for accessories and premium cigars from the editors of CigarCyclopedia.com.  Any of these will make great gifts for the man who appreciates fine cigars . . . and the family who appreciates their dad.  You can find these cigar-related gifts at better smoke shops everywhere.

Accessories:

C.A.O. Rock N Rolled Tour Csonka Cigar Travel Case

The Csonka cigar travel cases have a well-deserved reputation for quality. They’re almost indestructible as they are made from solid steel! This one bears the Eagle logo from the C.A.O. Rock N Rolled Tour and has room for five Churchill-length cigars, plus a cutter, humidifier, hygrometer and two water pipettes to freshen the humidifier while on the road. The case measures four inches deep by eight inches long and 1.7 inches high and retails for $64.95.

Camacho Travel Bag

This is a glorious leather travel satchel which happens to have foam inserts that hold 20 of the best that Camacho has to offer: four each of the Camacho 10th Anniversary 11/18 Natural (6 inches by 54 ring gauge); Camacho Corojo 11/18 Natural (6 x 54); Camacho Liberty 2007 (6 x 54), the hot Camacho Triple Maduro 11/18 (6 x 56) and the Camacho CLE Limited Edition Natural (6 x 54), a special edition by Christian Eiroa not available anywhere else! This item, which retails for about $275.00, can be hard to find, but it’s a gift that will be used for years after the cigars themselves are gone.

Rocky Patel Diplomat Lighter

If you’re having a hard time getting that 60-ring gauge cigar lit quickly, your problems are over. The new Rocky Patel Diplomat Lighter isn’t just a torch, but a five-flame firebrand that will instantly light anything it comes close to . . . and doubles as a welding torch!  It’s nicely priced at just $60.00 retail, but be sure to get plenty of extra butane, as this baby expends a lot of energy with five separate flames going at the same time!

Thompson Cigar Travel Cases

These are hard-sided, thick leather telescoping travel cases that will hold from 8-10 cigars depending on the ring gauge, keeping your cigars safe from mischief while in your suitcase. There are other makers of this type of case, but Thompson Cigar Co.’s Tuscany eight-cigar case is now on close-out for just $14.95, compared to prices of up to $65.00 elsewhere . . . but only while supplies last!

S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Liberte

If you’re looking for that ultimate cigar-themed gift, how about the S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Liberte?  Sure it retails for $1,235 – but it’s made of Palladium and available in your choice of black Chinese lacquer or chocolate-colored leather – and is the first standard-style Dupont lighter to feature a single-flame torch! Of course, it has the famous "ping" upon opening and it looks just gorgeous.  There’s also a matched, single-cigar metal ashtray in the same line so you can be properly accessorized when using the Liberte!

Premium Cigars:

Cask-Aged Cigars

Ever-inventive Lew Rothman of Cigars by Santa Clara outdid himself on this one, creating miniature casks reminiscent of the giant versions in which cigars used to be shipped to retailers a thousand at a time.

These smaller casks hold 20 unbanded and uncellophaned cigars each and are available from 30 different brands in either 6-inch by 50-ring or 6 1/8-inch by 50 ring sizes. Pricing depends on the brand inside and ranges at retail from $70.00 to $260.00 per cask. It’s just one of the coolest packages for cigars and makes a perfect pencil cup for your desk once you empty it!

Cusano Taste Tour Sampler

Michael Chiusano’s Cusano and sister brand Cuvee are favorites in some shops and are coming on in others. They’re very well made cigars, but not everyone has tried them, so here’s a great chance.  For around $50 retail (plus local tobacco and sales taxes), you can check out the best Cusano blends in a single box! Also known as the "Factory Tour Sampler," the box includes eight different robusto-sized cigars from eight different brands: Cusano 18 Paired Maduro; Cusano 18 Double Connecticut; Cusano Corojo ‘97; Cusano LXI Sun Grown; Cusano Rare Cameroon; Cuvee 151; Cuvee Blanc and Cuvee Rouge. You’ll find of them interesting and no doubt have a favorite that you’ll enjoy into the future after trying them all.

Nub Variety Sampler

The Nub brands from the Oliva Cigar Company has been a sensation, with its extra-big-ring blends in cigars that range from just 3-5/8 to 4 inches long!  The Nub Variety Sampler gives you a taste of the three original blends – Cameroon, Habano and Connecticut – with two each in four-inch sizes that range from 60 to 66 ring! It retails for $40.00 for the six cigars, plus local sales and tobacco taxes.

Partagas Black Clasico Four-Pack

Not only are Partagas Black some of the most flavorful cigars you can buy anywhere, thanks in significant part to its extra-dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, you can enjoy the big-ring Clasico size (5-1/4 x 54) and enter to win the Partagas Cigar Cave contest now underway through July 31. Contest entry codes are enclosed in the special four-packs (four for the price of three); best of all, if you’re the winner of the $10,000 Cigar Cave prize, the smokeshop where you bought the four-pack also gets a Partagas Cigar Cave prize as well!

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Tubos

This is one of our favorite brands, thanks to its history and its line of marvelous cigars in tubes offered in boxes of 10. For Father’s Day, pick your favorite statesman – France’s World War I leader Georges Clemenceau or Britain’s World War II stalwart Winston Churchill – and enjoy the cigars named after them. The Clemenceau en Tubo is a 6-inch by 50-ring Toro while the Churchill en Tubo is a full 7-inch by 50-ring double corona!  Both are exceptionally well priced, retailing for $62.50 (Clemenceau) and $65.00 (Churchill). It’s a can’t-miss gift for any cigar lover.
