Going to Beijing Olympics? Hit Nashville
Nashville bar and restaurant offers a sense of southern hospitality that would make Davy Crocket feel at home. With Cuban cigars and single malt whiskeys aplenty it's a place where Beijingers can go to feel like a southern gentleman and a cowboy at the same time. Upon the first glance, Nashville's downstairs dcor doesn't quite pop at you. It has the subtle style of an old fashion saloon. Wooden tables, chairs and walls give the environment a very stiff feel that is barely abolished by movie poster's displaying cookie-cutter westerns hanging in the back.
Head upstairs though and the charm of the bar seems to pop out. Walls lined with bottles of wine and old cigar boxes mash with more cowboy posters. The lighting is brighter and so is the atmosphere. Outside, Nashville offers extensive patio seating that allows patrons to milk their moonshine whilst basking under the Beijing sky. A combo of cowboy and classic rock fills the speakers seven days a week. Thursday nights shine as the Pilipino rockers 'Red Cell' step on the stage to unleash an array of ballads by the Beatles, the Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn and almost every other band that has made America Classic rock what it is. If its authenticity sought, Nashville is where to find it. Once a Sanlitun bar, Nashville moved to its' Haoyun Jie location in 2006 where it now enjoys its status amongst the Lucky Street Bars. Being that it is a western style bar it's not surprising to find that they charge close to western prices. With bottles of Tsing Taos bottoming out at 25 yuan, they are the most affordable drink on the menu. Cocktails start at 35 and work their way up.
