General Cigar is celebrating its 50th anniversary over the next few months with a ten-city tour starting July 27. The tour will begin at Chicago’s Vertigo Lounge in the Dana Hotel and end on November 11th at the Foundation Room in Las Vegas.
The parties will be in Chicago, Denver. Dallas, Washington, DC, Geyserville, CA, Atlanta, Tampa, Los Angeles and Vegas. Legendary cigar master Benji Menendez will attend the events along with his apprentice Rick Rodriguez and Michael Giannini. The featured cigars for all the events will be the new Artisanos de Tabagueros under the La Gloria Cubana label, Upper Cut by Punch and the Macanudo 1968.
The parties will pair these cigars with fine wine, spirits and hors d’oeuvers. According to Debo Mukherjee, General’s VP of marketing, “We developed this event series to celebrate the people whose passion and mastery have made General Cigar one of the world’s foremost producers of premium cigars. Invited guests will not only have a chance to experience the premium cigar lifestyle in a connoisseur’s setting, but will also have a rare opportunity to learn about tobacco cultivation and blending from Benji Menendez, our cigar sage, and from the emerging cigar masters who will take our company into the next half century.”
