General Cigar has released the news of the new addition to their Cohiba brand. The result of hundreds of prototypes and countless hours of experimentation with natural seeds developed solely by General Cigar's dedicated research and development team, General Cigar's new Cohiba Puro Dominicana is the ultimate tribute to Daniel Nuñez's native country and to the tobacco that he has so carefully nurtured throughout the years. Cultivated in the island's Cibao and Northwestern agricultural growing regions, each component of this cigar, beginning with every tiny seed and encompassing specific soil types, speaks to Daniel's tireless commitment to developing Dominican tobacco. The tobaccos are blended proportionally, marrying each other while retaining certain inherent characteristics of the Dominican growing areas from which each leaf was harvested. These proprietary tobaccos have been aged in tercios and charcoaled wooden barrels to enhance their natural flavor. Read more... |

| May 15, 2008 | Cusano Cuvée |
Cusano Cigars from Tabacalera Dom Rey have an interesting blending philosophy, according to Joseph Chiusano. Some of these ideas really set them apart from other manufacturers, at least as far as public statements go. It's likely others do this, too, but it's not always made known so clearly. "We produce our cigars in the Dominican Republic using only the best tobacco's from all over the world. We also use wrapper tobacco's as binders and fillers in our cigars. Wrapper tobaccos are between 30 and 50 % of the flavor of a cigar. They are more expensive but used in other positions give the cigar more character, flavor and complexity. This is our philosophy to give the buyer more then they expected. Our quote âú Discover what a cigar should be' is how we feel about the cigars we make." Read more... |

In 1492, the Old World discovered in the New World, God's great gift - Tabaco. The first people to condemn this wonder of nature were the Spanish Inquisitors. They desecrated the plant by referring to it as the "Devil's Weed." Rodrigo de Jerez was one of Colón's sailors who fell entranced by tabaco. For his constant use of the plant, he was imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition. 515 years later, Molina Cigar Co., is proud to present to you the result of the sublime works of man, nature and God.
