New CAO Cigar Targets "Full-Bodied" Market Segment
Nashville, June 11, 2008: CAO, announced today that it will unveil its CAO Lx2 cigar line at the in Las Vegas July 13-17.
CAO Lx2 ("Ligero-times-two") is a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar named for the priming of the tobacco plant which produces a leaf that is dark, strong, and spicy. CAO Lx2 combines a Nicaraguan wrapper with a Honduran binder, and incorporates two different ligero filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. "The inspiration for Lx2 came from a small growing field in Nicaragua called Pueblo Nuevo," said CAO President Tim Ozgener. "Pueblo Nuevo is a 140-acre farm outside of Condega (Nicaragua) where tobacco is grown exclusively for CAO and Toraño brands. We found that tobacco from this particular farm yields an abundance of strength while retaining a nice, earthy sweetness. The taste profile played perfectly into what we were looking for with the Lx2 concept."
Packaged in boxes of 20 cigars, CAO Lx2 will be available in three shapes: Rob (5" x 48), Toro (6" x 50), and the torpedo-shaped Beli (6 1/2" x 52), and will have a suggested retail price range of $6 to $8 per cigar.
