Nestor Miranda Collection Special Selection Ruky
In an e-mail from Miami Cigars spokesman René Castañeda, the Nestor Miranda Collection is adding another cigar to it's Special Selection line, the "Ruky"
Miami, FL 16 June 2009…The Ruky, the latest addition to the Nestor Miranda Collection, Special Selection, has been in limited distribution for eight (8) weeks; to test the market’s response to this exquisite perfecta manufactured for us by My Father Cigars. Ruky is a 5.5/8” x 48 x 52.
We started with a magnificent blend of beautifully cured, fermented and aged filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. A binder grown in Estelí, Nicaragua wraps the filler; and a superb Nicaragua Habano Oscuro envelopes the cigar.
“Ruky” is Nestor Miranda’s nickname. From the age before he was a teenager, growing up in Holguin, in the tobacco rich Oriente Province of Cuba, his friends called him “Ruky.” The name has remained among his closest and oldest friends. Inasmuch as he insisted on the creation of this vitola, we thought it appropriate to name it “Ruky.”
The cigars come packed in a simple, elegant hinged box containing five (5) cigars, selling for $8.00 each.
“We have been extremely gratified by the initial response,” said Miami Cigar &Company’s Vice President Rene J. Castaneda, “so; we decided to expand the distribution even before the IPCPR.”

National Nestor Miranda Cigar Day, which commemorated the company’s 20th Anniversary and both promoted the Nestor Miranda Collection Special Selection, and thanked the cigar smoking community for their enthusiastic embrace of the line, saw the sale of a tremendous amount of Ruky where they were available.
“Hence, our decision to put the cigar in wide distribution immediately,” said Nestor Miranda.
It was reported, however, that here were some authorized Nestor Miranda dealers who chose not to participate in the Nestor Miranda Cigar Day.
