Launched at the 1999 Retail Tobacco Dealers Association show in Las Vegas, the Flor de Copan cigar from Consolidated is aimed at the more sophisticated cigar smoker. The combination of Honduran wrapper with the blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan filler produces a full-bodied, flavorful cigar, with hints of chocolate and spice. Consolidated has produced a rich, hearty and robust smoke.
All of the cigar manufacturers are experimenting with blends to satisfy the changing tastes of cigar smokers. As the majority of new smokers from the "Boom" continue to smoke cigars their tastes are changing as they gain experience with different cigars and understand their own preferences. Witness the amount of new cigars launched in 1999 using maduro wrappers or H2000 wrappers.
